Basic Information About Academic Programmes
The Faculty prepares physical education teachers for all types and levels of primary, secondary and higher education. The faculty also prepares qualified experts for all types of extra-curricular physical activities in schools, and for recreational activities physiotherapy and adapted physical activities.

Lifelong Learning
Lifelong learning at the Faculty focuses on sport training studies and short-term courses for instructors in various sports. Each study programme is launched based on demand on the part of students. Study programmes and courses are available in Czech, English or Russian.

Admission
All applicants must take an entrance examination which contains the following parts: The entrance examination for all study programmes includes an interview. The study programme in Adapted Physical Activity is available for disabled students. For this study programme, at least one-month practical experience is required. In 2009/2010, the number of applicants to the Faculty was 1607. The Faculty selected 637 applicants.

Information for Foreign Students
The Faculty offers all the aforementioned study programmes for foreign students in the Czech language. The Faculty also offers the following programmes in English: bachelor study programmes (Physiotherapy, Recreology, Adapted Physical Activities, Management of Sport and Training), master study programmes (Physiotherapy, Recreology, Adapted Physical Activities) and a doctoral study programme. There is also a master study programme in Adapted Physical Activities delivered in Russian. The quality and content of the programmes are identical with those taught in the Czech language. Students from various countries are admitted on the basis of an entrance examination (similar to that for Czech students) and an interview. The interview aims to assess the applicant's knowledge in general subjects, his/her motivation, and the knowledge of Czech (for non-native speakers who want to study one of the programmes being offered in Czech only), English (for applicants from non-English speaking countries desiring to study in English) or Russian (for applicants from non-Russian speaking countries applying for the programme taught in Russian). Tuition fees Tuition fees for foreign students are as follows: Bachelor and Master study programme taught in English and Russian: 100,000 CZKper academic year 50,000 CZK per semester 8,500 CZK per month Doctoral study programme taught in English: 160,000 CZK per academic year 6,000 CZK - this is a fee for the final examination in the doctoral study programmes, including the presentation of a doctoral thesis.
