Basic Information About Academic Programmes
The faculty prepares specialists in its Bachelor's, Master's, and doctoral degree programmes, all of which are two-tier programmes with an emphasis on transferability between Bachelor's and Master's studies at various institutions of higher learning of the same type. At the Bachelor's level, studies at the Faculty of Sports Studies are organized in single and double-subject courses of study. Three-year degree programmes are offered in four fields: Facilitator of Physical Activities, Physical Education and Sport, Regeneration and Nutrition in Sports, and Special Training of Security Forces. Graduates are qualified to work at school clubs and after-school centres, civic associations, fitness centres, private sports clubs, and with security forces. The core Master's degree programme is the double-subject programme for physical education teachers. The second subject of the specialization is taken at the Faculty of Education, the Faculty of Science or the Faculty of Arts within the framework of inter-faculty studies. Graduates of the double specialization Master's degree work as teachers of two subjects at basic and secondary schools. The faculty also offers a single-subject Master's degree programme in Physical Education and Sport. Its graduates are also qualified to work as teachers of physical education at schools of all types, but they are especially trained as teachers of, and researchers in, kinanthropology at institutions of higher learning. The doctoral studies programme in Kinanthropology is intended for graduates from Master's degree programmes at institutions of higher learning that provide a complete tertiary education. The objective of the programme is to enhance the theoretical knowledge gained in the Master's programme and to provide students with the skills necessary to carry out independent research. The Bachelor's degree programmes in Physical Education and Sports and Special Training of Security Forces are also offered in the form of combined studies, lasting three years.

Lifelong Learning
The faculty organizes courses on a fee-paying basis for those who wish to obtain licences in selected sports disciplines. It also offers similar courses for individuals interested in extending their qualifications in the field of physical education.

Admission
The entrance examination at the Faculty of Law at both Bachelor's and Master's levels includes a university-administered aptitude test designed to evaluate a range of abilities needed for university-level studies. In addition, there are specifically designed entrance tests for various degree programmes reflecting their respective nature. Admission procedures for doctoral programmes are the responsibilty of the relevant department. In 2009/2010, the number of applicants to the Faculty was 1278. The Faculty selected 495 applicants, i.e., 38,7 % of the candidates, for admission.

Information for Foreign Students
The teaching in both Master's and Bachelor's degree programmes at the Faculty of Sports Studies is conducted in Czech. The doctoral studies programme in Kinanthropology is taught in both Czech and English. At the Bachelor's and Master's levels, the faculty also makes special arrangements for international students in some subjects, which are offered in English and German. These include both courses consisting of outdoor activities and individual courses that form part of the regular curriculum.
