Types of Study Programmes and Degrees Awarded
The Faculty only offers Master Study Programmes and awards the following degrees: After the state final examination: "magistr" (i.e. "Master"), abbreviated as "Mgr." After the state "rigorous" examination: "doktor práv" (i.e. "Doctor of Law"), abbreviated as "JUDr."

Basic Information About Academic Programmes
The Faculty only offers study programmes on a full-time basis. The first part of the programme consists of history of law and theory of law, social sciences, philosophy, psychology, political sciences and intensive instruction in two foreign languages. In the second part of the programme, the studies deal with the Czech legal system, internal jurisdiction, state administration, commercial and financial law; all these subjects are taught in basic, optional or complementary courses. The study programmes are completed by a final examination.

Lifelong Learning
The Faculty offers: -courses preparing students for entrance examinations, -courses for seniors in Citizens and the Law

Admission
All applicants must take an entrance examination in the Czech language, one foreign language, history and civics, and they must demonstrate a good level of general social, political and cultural knowledge. A psychological test forms an important part of the examination. In 2009/2010, the number of applicants to the Faculty was 3116. The Faculty selected 328 applicants, 651 of the candidates, for admission.

The Faculty offers all study programmes for foreign students in the Czech language only.
