Basic Information About Academic Programmes
The task of this Faculty is to educate students to become skilled and qualified teachers in primary and secondary schools. Apart from teaching qualifications, some study programmes lead to higher education qualifications for specialists in miscellaneous areas. Teacher training study programmes are provided usually in two-subject combinations.

Lifelong Learning
Single-subject part-time courses are offered for master-level graduates in the field of teacher training. These courses are available on a fee-paying basis in the following subjects: French, German, Latin, Czech Language and Literature, Civics, (individual studies). A complementary course in teaching methodology for teachers in vocational schools (on a fee-paying basis) A complementary course in teaching methodology for teachers of crafts (on a fee-paying basis)

Admission
Applicants must have completed their secondary school education, and must have passed a secondary school leaving examination. There is an entrance examination in the main subject of the selected study programme. In 2009/2010, the number of applicants to the Faculty was 3042. The Faculty selected 1510 applicants, i.e., 49,6 % of the candidates, for admission.

Information for Foreign Students
The Faculty offers all the aforementioned study programmes for foreign students in the Czech language. A Summer School of Slavonic Studies, Course IX, will be held from 23.8.2004 to 10.9.2004. The course is open to Czech Ministry of Education grant holders and to fee-paying participants. The course fee is USD 750 and comprises tuition fee, accommodation and board. The daily programme consists of five lessons devoted to language learning, lectures, and historical and educational excursions.
