Basic Information About Academic Programmes
Graduates from the Pharmacy study programme (a master study programme) are qualified to work in pharmaceutical research, production, control and distribution, in biochemical laboratories, pharmaceutical educational centres and in other health centres. Graduates from Health Bioanalysis (a bachelor study programme) are qualified to work in chemical laboratories, transfusion stations and/or in public health institutes. The final state examination consists of five parts to be selected from: Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Chemical Drug Control, Pharmacology, Pharmacognosy, Pharmaceutical Technology and Social Pharmacy. A thesis is also required. There are also eleven specialisations, as listed above, to be studied in the doctoral study programme. This programme prepares graduates for pharmaceutical research and for teaching at higher education institutions.

Lifelong Learning
The faculty also organizes lifelong learning programmes (e.g. preparatory courses for applicants). More information can be obtained directly from the faculty.

Admission
Applicants who wish to study Health Bioanalysis are required to take a written entrance examination in chemistry and biology; applicants who are interested in the Pharmacy study programme are required to pass a written examination in physics, chemistry and biology. The applicants' secondary school results are also taken into consideration. In 2009/2010, the number of applicants to the Faculty was 947. The Faculty selected 494 applicants, i.e., 52,2 % of the candidates, for admission.

Information for Foreign Students
The Faculty is also open for foreign students. The Health Bioanalysis study programme is available in Czech only. The Pharmacy study programme is available in Czech (after a one-year course of Czech language if necessary), or in English. Foreign students who have learnt Czech in their own country are required to take an additional examination in the Czech language. The selection of self-financing international students is carried out on the basis of the applicants´ secondary school results. Tuition fees for international students are as follows: - Master study programmes taught in English: USD 6,800 per academic year - Doctoral study programmes taught in English: USD 5,200 per academic year Accommodation is available in student halls of residence. It costs about USD 100 per month. Full board (3 meals a day) in a student canteen costs USD 120 per month.
