Basic Information About Academic Programmes
The primary goal of this faculty is to update Hussite theology which is based on biblical and Hussite spiritual traditions. The Faculty educates students for ministry in the Hussite Church or in other churches co-operating with the Faculty. It prepares specialists in the areas of philosophy of religion, Judaism and psychosocial sciences. It provides teacher education in theology. The graduates are qualified for any position in the sphere of spiritual administration, social services and/or the teaching of theology. The doctoral study programme in Hussite Theology involves a scientific elaboration of the present teachings of the Czechoslovak Hussite Church, both normative (dogmatics, ethics, teaching of religion, liturgics, canon law) and interdisciplinary (in relation to religious studies, specifically to Judaism and philosophy) and historical (church history).

Lifelong Learning
Another possibility to study at the Faculty is to take part in short-term courses (including the University of the Third Age). The courses are offered by the faculty within the framework of life-long education programmes. Graduates from these courses obtain certificates or credits.

Admission
The study programmes at the Faculty require students who are socially oriented and interested in spiritual tasks. The entrance examination consists of a written part and an interview. Candidates are required to show their knowledge of English or German and to prove a general knowledge in the area of theology, history, culture and literature. During the interviewi the candidate's personal motivation is examined. In 2009/2010, the number of applicants to the Faculty was 398. The Faculty selected 339 applicants, i.e., 85,2 % of the candidates, for admission.

Information for Foreign Students
The Faculty offers all degree programmes for international students in the Czech language only. Citizens of the Czech Republic as well as foreigners may participate in doctoral study programmes. The instruction is in Czech and only selected lectures can be delivered in English or in German. The Faculty concludes an agreement with each foreign student in the doctoral study programmes. The agreement specifies the rights and duties of the student for the time of his/her studies, and includes the length of studies, their form, etc.
